Trevi Fountain
Click on the pic to go back to Rome story

The Trevi Fountain or Fontana di Trevi - a wonderful place to hang out at dusk.
Rome's largest fountain was built in the 18th Century so is pretty modern by Roman standards. The fountain is full of coins - chucking your hard-earned cash in is supposed to mean you'll return to Rome or something (presumably to retrieve said hard-earned cash).

The trickling of the water is very soothing and it's all quite romantic really. A good reason to return whether or not you've thrown a coin in. The sculptures are pretty awesome too. You can't really leave Rome without checking out the Trevi.
