Sacsayhuaman Inca ruins, Cusco, Peru

Click on the pic to return to Peru story

Sacsayhuaman is another amazing example of Inca resourcefulness and ingenuity. How they moved those huge stones such great distances using sheer person power is a bit of a mystery. It’s a pretty massive archaeological site complete with underground caves. The way the whole ancient city was constructed has meant large parts of it are still very well preserved thank you very much, where other parts of Cusco succumbed to earthquakes.
