Get me, culture vulture…


Been to see a couple of really good plays recently. Saving the best til last, I’ll start with Ghost From Another Place. Tells the story of a who’s been away for a while and returns to his old East End haunts to find things in the gang world have changed a bit… First half of the play is better than the second half but the sum of two halves is pretty good all round.

 

 

An absolute must see (although it’s at the end of its current run so hopefully it will have many more…). Stars Lenny Henry as Adam the son of Rudy, owner of Rudy’s Rare Record shop, which is under threat from property developers.

Everything about this play is fantastic. The cast, the music, the live band, the story…The Guardian puts it more eloquently and the audience says it with feeling:
