Had a good night out night before last. Was just wandering along lakeside and was lured into a local bar by the sound of live music. Really good band as it turned out.
It seems the mullet (hairstyle as opposed to fish) is alive and well in this part of NZ (or perhaps it never left). Sported by about one in four young drunken lads who together with the great music kept me entertained with their antics (mainly dancing badly and trying to square up to bouncers twice their size).
Well sadly said goodbye to Te Anau this morning and slowly making my way to Wanaka where I shall be bringing in the New Year. En route gondola ride at Queenstown for amazing views and nice little walk back down into Queenstown.
Now making a refreshment stop in Arrowtown, a pretty little place where I shall have a bit of a mooch before continuing on. Hope to have the energy to stay up til the New Year once I get to Wanaka.
