Bullring, Valencia, Spain
Click on the pic to go back to Valencia story

I don't necessarily approve of what goes on in bullrings but had to admit it's a really beautiful building. Especially when lit up at night. The bullring is near the train station in Pl. de Torros.

We were reliably informed on our tourist bus earlier in the day that this is one of the most important bullrings in the whole of Spain (or was that the world?? -- I must have lost concentration a bit at that point). It was built in the mid 19th century in a similar style to a Roman amphitheatre, and apparently seats up to 16,000 blood thirsty bullfighting fans.

I imagine it makes a great venue for live music too ...
