halloween celebrations, Castro, San Francisco

Click on the pic to return to San Francisco story

American's take their Halloween's pretty seriously, and even more so in San Francisco. We were told by many beforehand that Halloween celebrations in the Castro were legendary and not to be missed. So we arrived early and had a couple of drinks Harvey Milk's bar which was buzzing and lively.

True to what we'd been lead to expect, the mood in the Castro was up, and many had entered into the spirit of things dressing up in fantastic costumes.

By the end of the evening around 300, 000 had joined the celebrations, squeezing into a relatively small area. Given the numbers there was surprisingly little trouble and a fun time was had by most.
