Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

Click on the pic to return to San Francisco story

Golden Gate park, that great expanse of green at the end of Haight Ashbury's main drag. Very pretty and a nice place to chill it stretches all the way down to Ocean Beach.

There's loads of stuff in the park including several lakes, and a botanical garden and arboretum (that's basically a garden with trees - but then if you like that stuff you probably know that already). The arboretum is arranged in by climate / country and is extremely pleasant to walk in.

Some bits of the park had a few dodgy looking folk lurking around so it's probably not great to wander about here in the dark. Mostly though there were just lots of people hanging out and having a good time having a picnic, playing tennis, sitting, taking a walk and generally engaging in a bit of rest and relaxation.
