Nimbin is an interesting place ... pre early 1970's it was a dairy town. And then the hippies came for the Aquarius Festival and now Nimbin is the thriving centre of Australia's hippy culture.

Although the town itself is pretty small, basically one short street, it's colourful shop fronts, history, and famous Hemp Embassy make it a bit of a tourist magnet.

Many, very cool, "alternative" people live in and around the town and there's the usual arty stuff you'd expect to find in such a place. The candle factory is great and worth a visit for the guided tour of how the hand made candles are made. You won't be able to stop yourself buying a shedload of beautiful candles though. You have been warned ...
