After a visit to China Town I was just wandering along South Bridge Road towards Little India, and stumbled upon Elgin Bridge and the river. I was feeling kind of weary from walking and a Bumboat ride seemed like the perfect way to see a bit more of town whilst resting my legs. A half hour tour takes in views of Singapore's landmarks and skyline, and the relaxing effect of the water went down well with me. With a bit more time and / or energy it would have been nice to wander along the promenade, sit and watch the world go by from one of the many riverside bars and restaurants on Boat Quay, or grab a bit of culture at one of the waterfront museums. Both The Arts House, in the imposing old parliament building, and the Asian Civilisations Museum are close to where the Bumboat tours pick up and drop off.
