Click on the pic to return to Seattle story A short half hour hop on the ferry from gets you to suburban Bainbridge Island. The ferry trip affords fabulous views of Seattle's skyline and snow topped mountain backdrop on the way in and out (if like me you're lucky enough to get a beautiful clear day). Once you get to Bainbridge, there's a pretty harbour with waterfront restaurants. A little further inland, a small shopping district, beautiful suburban houses with private beaches... Seems like a lovely place ... So if you have a spare $½million or so upwards burning a hole in your back pocket ... For the rest of us there's always the day trip out from Pier 52. |
