Click on the pic to return to Scotland story This was my favourite of the places we visited on this trip. The weather was beautiful and the walk was really relaxing and peaceful. The views in every direction were absolutely stunning. Big hills with Celtic names like Creag a' Chaise and Creag Bhreac. We walked along what used to be a railway track above the delightfully named Glenlochsie Burn. We stopped for lunch at an idyllic spot between the ruins of Glenlochsie Lodge and another river called Allt Clais Mhor. I don't know why it's called the Spittal of Glenshee (love the name) but I could easily have spent all day here. Instead, after chilling for a while we headed back to the start of the walk near the posh-looking Dalmunzie Hotel. Next we headed up to Glenshee -- one of Scotland's ski resorts a few miles away. Needless to say there wasn't much skiing happening but it was really beautiful anyway. A real shame that all good things must come to an end sometime ... |
