Click on the pic to return to San Francisco story Golden Gate park, that great expanse of green at the end of Haight Ashbury's main drag. Very pretty and a nice place to chill it stretches all the way down to Ocean Beach. There's loads of stuff in the park including several lakes, and a botanical garden and arboretum (that's basically a garden with trees - but then if you like that stuff you probably know that already). The arboretum is arranged in by climate / country and is extremely pleasant to walk in. Some bits of the park had a few dodgy looking folk lurking around so it's probably not great to wander about here in the dark. Mostly though there were just lots of people hanging out and having a good time having a picnic, playing tennis, sitting, taking a walk and generally engaging in a bit of rest and relaxation. |
