Click on the pic to return to Peru story Puno doesn’t really have a massive lot to recommend it, apart from proximity to Lake Titicaca, and being a good jumping off point for visiting the Uros Floating Islands so from Cusco we headed to Puno for a night. Getting there from Cusco was pretty straightforward by bus and it was fairly easy finding our way around (though we didn’t stray too far from our hotel). Puno’s pretty polluted and noisy but there was something about it that I quite liked too. I especially liked this Andean woman who did her level best to flog me the whole hand of Alpaca finger puppets. I’d already acquired quite a few by then so tried to politely decline but in the end succumbed and got a few. |
