... Or to use its full name Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. Once we'd gone as far as we wanted along the promenade plantée, we peeled off and headed back towards the river. This weird building (with grass on the roof) drew us towards it for some reason... Right next to it is a very nice park with various water features, including a real tranquility-inducing bit where water cascades down these columns of little steps (I'm sure there's a proper technical term for this but Iim buggered if I know what it is). On the day we visited, dozens of would-be stunt cyclists were performing various death-defying feats - including cycling down said steps and, more bizarrely, having a competition to see how far they could cycle up a tree ... |
