Click on the pic to return to New York story After some debate about whether to hang onto our rental bikes overnight or not we decided we'd get shot of them and headed back to the bike shop down fifth avenue, in rush-hour traffic ... the most hair raising bike ride I've had in a long time! In fact we probably spent most of the journey back pushing our bikes along the pavement. Still at least it meant that we could stop and take a closer look at more of the city's fine architecture -- like the much photographed Flatiron building, New York's (and the World's) first skyscraper, completed in 1903. The surrounding area of the Flatiron district is is full of retail shops so good for shopping ... |
