Accra's Labadi beach (aka La Pleasure Beach Resort) is a great place to chill, while away a couple of hours, meet people, go for a walk, eat good food, get your shopping done ... Popular with both locals and tourists it's a nice place to sit and watch the world go by.

On our last day we finally succumbed to buying various bits of craftwork including a drum - with a free drum lesson thrown in by this nice bloke called Absolon. Imagine ... sun, sea, sand, bottle of delicious Star beer and the sweet sound of African drums ... Bliss.

Anyway "respect" to Absolon for his bartering skills, laid-back friendly attitude, and for generally being a good laugh. He also does drumming lessons at his school and craft shop a bit further down the road. So if you're in the area ... Don't forget to tell him I sent you.
